Our airwasher is now nearly 4 years old, but it's made a huge difference in our home air quality. I remember the first night we had it, I knew it was working immediately because the back of my throat wasn't stuck together when I woke up the next morning.

I live in Utah, and the air is fairly dry. In the winter when we run our furnace, the air gets even drier, sucking any moisture from wherever it can get it (i.e., mucous membranes, etc.). The airwasher blows a (very quiet) fan across slowly rotating plastic disks, evaporating the water off of them into your home air, at the same time capturing any loose particulates in the air and dropping them off into the water as the disks rotate.

We bought our airwasher (model LW44) from Bed, Bath & Beyond. Venta keeps fairly tight control over its distribution channels--we haven't ever seen the price vary since we bought ours.

We've only had two problems with the airwasher since we bought it, and both problems were solved very quickly by the support staff at the 1-800 number. Both times involved, Venta sent me replacement parts (including a new motor) at no charge.

The airwasher has at 10 year guarantee, and so far they've been true to that guarantee.

We haven't tried any of the scented water detergents yet, but still may sometime. One bottle of detergent lasts almost a year for us.
