Reed's Raspberry Ginger Brew

Fri, 27 Apr 2007

Courtesy my friend Rus.

I really like this one. I don't recall drinking anything like it before. The raspberry isn't overwhelming, but it has a solid presence. The ginger is nice and strong.

Bundaberg Ginger Beer

Fri, 20 Apr 2007

A fantastic ale from my friend Rus. Plenty of ginger, nothing fancy. It has a dark, musty taste that reminds me of some of the exotic beverages I drank when I was a child at my great uncle's house.

Reed's Spiced Apple Brew

Thu, 19 Apr 2007

Another batch from my good friend Rus from Seattle.

The nose is a sharp ginger hit (very mellow compared with Reed's specialty ginger beverages), unfortunately followed by kind of a nothing middle, but finishes with a beautiful apple-cinnamon bouquet.

Makes me feel young to drink this, except that no child I know likes how it tastes--to subtle I suppose. ...

The Ginger People Ginger Beer

Tue, 10 Oct 2006

Fantastic taste; also better than Reed's Jamaican style in my opinion.

I want to try this one back-to-back with Buderim and see how they compare.

Buderim Ginger Authentic Australian Ginger Brew (Yank Style)

Fri, 08 Sep 2006

Another great ginger ale. This seems to have more ginger feel than Reed's, and less of the hard gingerness--smoother. The flavor is also a different kind of ginger than Reed's ("Golden ginger").

I'm giving this a higher mark than Reed's for its flavor (better chilled than at room temperature).

Reed's Premium Ginger Brew

Fri, 08 Sep 2006

My good friend Rus sent me some new ginger brewskies, and this was the first of the lot to try.

Let me just say, that if you like ginger, this one's really got it: 17 grams per bottle! And no fructose (uses only mild honey and pineapple juice to sweeten).

Reed's Premium packs a spicy kick and it tastes equally fine chilled or at room temperature. ...
