Printing to a Windows 98 Shared PrinterMon, 02 Jan 2006After upgrading to Tiger, my shared Windows 98 printer disappeared. Today I buckled down to see where it had gone. It turns out there were a few factors that needed adjustment. * I had changed my Windows workgroup name from 'Workgroup' to 'House'. In order for the Samba browser to find it, I needed to change my default workgroup: ![]() * Somehow my "LM Broadcast" settings for printer sharing had reverted to "No". I needed to make sure that the "LM Broadcast" setting was set to "Yes" in the "File and Printer Sharing" settings: ![]() Once these two items were set, the computer appeared in the "Windows Printing" list like it used to: ![]() and after choosing the computer, the printer appears: ![]() I'm not sure why, but I've had to reboot the Mac to make this work sometimes. |
