Robert Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance was my introduction to general systems. The notion of quality was revolutionary to me, who grew up in middle-class suburbia with little societal quality influence.

I've read it 4 times now and still consider it one of the great books I've read.
